History

This embroidery panel is inspired by the famous "singerie" decors that charmed French residences in the 17th and 18th centuries. At the heart of an elegant ornamental frame, two monkeys dressed in refined costumes evolve in a scene full of fantasy and poetry, faithful to the tradition of French decorative arts.

One plays music while the other presents a basket of flowers, creating a balanced composition where lightness, elegance and a festive spirit intertwine. The delicately drawn foliage, scattered flowers and rocaille-inspired ornaments harmoniously frame the scene and give it its full character.

Hand-painted on canvas, this model reveals a luminous and refined palette mixing delicate blues, soft greens, powdery pinks and touches of golden ocher. Each element has been designed to offer an embroidery rich in detail, where the characters, costumes and decorative motifs gradually come to life under the stitches.

Inspired by the great textile decors and decorative panels of yesteryear, this creation is a timeless piece that will appeal to lovers of history, decorative art and traditional embroidery.

The kit includes:

  • Hand-painted canvas
  • Exclusive fine wool "La Royale" d'Aubusson, dyed in France for Annie Bouquet, for the design and background
  • Needle
  • Stitch instructions

Dimensions

  • Design dimensions: 100 x 50 cm
  • Canvas dimensions: 110 x 58 cm (approx.)
  • Antique Monofil: 13 stitches/inch (13 mesh, ≈ 5.1 pts/cm)

Finishing & use

Designed as a true decorative panel, this work can be framed, stretched on a chassis, or integrated into an exceptional furnishing project. It naturally finds its place in a living room, a library, an office, or an interior inspired by classic decorative arts.
