🎨 The Art of French Canvas: Annie Bouquet & Mylène Austruy

For over 40 years, Annie Bouquet has embodied the artisanal elegance of hand-painted canvas. As the founder of the Canevas de France workshop in Paris, she perpetuates a rare skill: the creation of decorative canvases made by hand, in keeping with French traditions.

🧵 A living heritage

Each motif is first drawn by hand, then transferred onto a double-weave cotton canvas, before being meticulously painted with a brush in Parisian workshops.
This ancient method gives each piece an unparalleled charm and precision.

The colors used are from Aubusson La Royale wools, dyed specially for Annie Bouquet: a dense, rich, subtly nuanced palette to give relief to each pattern.

🌸 A new generation of canvases

In 2024, a new creative voice joins the workshop: Mylène Austruy .
A young textile artist and illustrator, she revisits traditional canvas with a more modern, colorful and poetic approach.
Her creations bring freshness and freedom to Annie Bouquet's classical repertoire.

Together, they form an intergenerational tandem where tradition and innovation interact to offer a range of unique products: cushions, pouches, decorative bells and embroidery pictures.
