Annie Bouquet was founded in Paris in 1978, at a time when the great tradition of French needlepoint embroidery needed a new voice. The city had long been home to workshops of remarkable beauty, but modernity was gradually pushing these houses to the margins.
Annie Bouquet was founded with a clear intention: to perpetuate this tradition and bring it into the contemporary world, with fresh, joyful, and deeply personal creations.
The studio
Our studio is a place of color, creativity, and quiet concentration. Artists work at large tables surrounded by paint trays, baskets of canvas, and sketches pinned to the wall. Each canvas begins with a hand-drawn design, refined until the perfect balance between beauty and ease of embroidery is found.
We believe that a good canvas is a collaboration: the artist sets the vision, the embroiderer brings it to life.
